FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  • Is there a DVD or Video player?
    Yes there is a DVD player and some films provided but please feel free to bring your own favourites. Also although rental is scarce, local stores do sell DVDs. Of course the DVD player will also play Music CDs. TOP
  • What is there to do in bad weather?
    The cottage has a supply of books on the shelves, games and puzzles in the cupboard and of course TV, audio and radio. Please leave books and games for others when you leave. Louth and district does have places to visit too. TOP
  • Are newspapers available?
    There are two newsagents within 5 minutes walk selling magazines and daily papers. There is a 3rd newsagent and WH Smith's plus the supermarkets. So, no need to go without your favourite crossword or sudoku! TOP
  • Where do we park close to the cottage?
    There is no need to park in the road as there is a dedicated space. It is possible to re-enter Westgate in forward gear too. However, more than one car would necessitate leaving one or more on the roadside adjacent to the cottage. TOP
  • Is heating and lighting included?
    The overall charge includes Gas and Electricity, but please remember we are trying to be green and resposible, so, please don't leave lights or heating on if not required TOP
  • Is there a broadband connection?
    Louth has a good broadband facility and if you wish to bring your laptop please let me know and I will arrange WiFi for you. Several locations in the town have free WiFi. TOP
  • Are hot water bottles provided?
    Unfortunately health and safety regulations prevent us from providing them. So, if you miss your hottie please make sure you pack one.There is a microwave oven, so modern gel versions can be heated before bed! TOP
  • Isn't Lincolnshire flat?
    In the South yes-fenland, but bring your bikes and boots and you'll find here further north that we have lovely rolling wolds with challenging gradients. TOP
  • Is there a railway station in Louth?
    Unfortunately not. The nearest are Grimsby, Market Rasen or Lincoln. TOP
  • Is there a dryer?
    • In an effort to uphold green credentials we do not have a dryer but instead ask you to dry clothing etc on the airer provided. There is an iron and board too.
